Terms and Conditions

Effective Date:

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of app.AliceGDS.com, ALICE Gunshot Detection Solutions services, emergency alerting tools, SMS/text notifications, monitoring services, and related systems.

By accessing or using our website, application, alerting services, or SMS notification system, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.

1. Emergency Alerting Service

ALICE Gunshot Detection Solutions provides gunshot detection, event notification, monitoring, verification, and Assisted Response™ services designed to support faster awareness and response during potential emergency events.

The system may send alerts related to:

  • Active shooter events
  • Gunshot detection events
  • Verified or unverified threat events
  • Test alerts
  • System status notifications
  • Monitoring center communications
  • Account or administrative notices
  • Device or service-related updates

2. No Guarantee of Prevention or Response

ALICE systems are designed to assist with detection, notification, verification, and response coordination. They do not prevent criminal acts, violence, injury, death, property damage, or emergency events.

ALICE Gunshot Detection Solutions does not guarantee:

  • That every gunshot or threat will be detected
  • That every alert will be delivered or received
  • That first responders will respond within any specific time
  • That a threat will be verified in every circumstance
  • That use of the system will prevent injury, loss, or damage
  • That wireless, internet, cellular, SMS, email, power, or third-party networks will operate without interruption

The services are intended to supplement, not replace, emergency planning, law enforcement, security personnel, facility procedures, 911 calls, or other safety protocols.

3. Emergency Procedures

In an emergency, users should call 911 or follow their organization's emergency procedures.

Do not rely solely on ALICE text messages, application alerts, monitoring notifications, or system communications as your only source of emergency information.

4. SMS/Text Message Consent and Enrollment

ALICE Gunshot Detection Solutions may send SMS/text messages related to emergency alerts, active shooter events, gunshot detection events, threat notifications, safety alerts, monitoring center communications, testing notifications, device status updates, account notices, and other service-related communications.

Recipients are enrolled by authorized administrators of participating organizations. Before adding a recipient's mobile number, the administrator must certify that they have obtained the recipient's prior express consent to receive SMS notifications through Assisted Response™.

After a mobile number is added, the recipient receives a one-time enrollment invitation message that identifies ALICE Gunshot Detection Solutions, describes the program, provides message frequency disclosures, message and data rate disclosures, HELP and STOP instructions, and links to the Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions.

The recipient must reply YES to confirm enrollment before receiving emergency notifications. No emergency notification messages will be sent until enrollment has been confirmed.

Message frequency varies depending on emergency events, testing activities, monitoring communications, system status changes, and account activity.

Message and data rates may apply.

Consent to receive SMS messages is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services.

Users may opt out at any time by replying STOP, STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT, REVOKE, or OPTOUT. Users may reply HELP or INFO for assistance.

Mobile information, mobile numbers, and SMS consent data will not be shared, sold, rented, or disclosed to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

5. Effect of Opting Out

If you opt out of SMS/text messaging, you may no longer receive emergency alerts, safety notifications, monitoring communications, active shooter alerts, gunshot detection alerts, testing notifications, or other SMS-based communications generated through Assisted Response™.

You acknowledge and agree that opting out may limit your ability to receive time-sensitive emergency information and safety-related notifications that could be important to your organization, facility, or assigned locations.

Users who previously opted out may re-enroll by replying START after receiving instructions from their organization administrator or by contacting their organization administrator directly.

6. User Responsibilities

You agree to provide accurate information, maintain current contact information, use the services only for authorized purposes, and comply with applicable laws and organizational policies.

7. Authorized Users

Access may be limited to authorized administrators, responders, monitoring personnel, approved emergency contacts, and customer representatives.

Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their credentials and account access.

8. Testing and Training Alerts

The system may generate test alerts, maintenance notifications, training alerts, or administrative messages.

9. System Availability

Service availability may be affected by internet outages, carrier delays, power failures, hardware failures, maintenance, cybersecurity events, weather conditions, or other circumstances beyond our control.

10. Monitoring Services

Monitoring services do not replace emergency responders, 911 services, law enforcement, emergency medical services, fire departments, or on-site security personnel.

11. Customer Configuration

Customers are responsible for maintaining accurate emergency contacts, site information, floor plans, user permissions, and notification settings.
